The intro riff is repeated several times (with power chords and building harmonies being introduced in distorted guitar parts). It is followed by a transitional riff, which shortens the ascent to only the E an octave above. The rhythmic movement is initially slowed by the quarter notes in the first measure, only to be sped up again with the sixteenth notes in the second measure. Notice also how the second measure has only three beats (expressed as a 3/4 measure), which expedites the close of the riff. The sixteenth notes hammer on power chords that reinforce the Bb and F as featured notes and introduce G within the context of the theme.
